Chloe King's Cat pillow
So here is a simple way to make you own cat pillow :) (sorry I don't have a better picture :o )
that's how I figured out I/you could make my/your own kitty pillow :)
you just gotta cut 4 strips of black fabric (the fabric you want, it doesn't even have to be black and white :p) of 3 inches wide and 16 inches long (or as long as you want depending on the circumference you want your pillow to have)... do the same thing with white (or any other color)... For the paws, you just gotta draw four ovals or circles (as you want to) in the white fabric. then in the black fabric you have to cut 4 pieces of 4 inches by the circumference of the circle/oval of each paw + some extra fabric for the stitches let's say maybe half an inch (hope you understand that part, I don't know if that is really clear..) after you did the four paw you have to fill them with stuffing and the sew them between the stripes.. for the front legs I think you should sew them between the first 2 stripes ( just pin them for the moment or you can sew the first 2 stripes together making sure to put the paws close to the end of the stripe each on one side like that http://en.zimagez.com/zimage/paws.php (i know it won't look like that it's just to show you what I meant (the paws are the purple things)) then sew the stripes together alternating the colors... you're gonna sew the two other paws between the body and the butt later...before you sew the bottom of the body together you're gonna have to do the butt of the cat in the black fabric : with a compass draw half of a circle a radius corresponding to the half of the height of the pillow when you put the body all together... (don't know if that part if really clear, if you want more explanation just tell me :p) after cutting the first half, do another half, you can draw the other half of the circle using the compass or just draw around the last piece you did making sure the right side are facing each other! Then you're gonna do the tail... just draw a tail ( you can do any kind of tail you want... we don't really see what kind of tail this pillow has...) let's say you do a long tail like that : http://en.zimagez.com/zimage/tailexemple.php you're gonna have to draw and cut that kind of shape in the black (let's call it fabric 1) and with the right sides facing each other cut another one like that then sew them together still in that position (right sides facing each other)... then to finish with the butt, you're gonna have to fill the tail with stuffing and then you have to put the tail (on the right side) between the 2 half circle of the butt (right sides still facing each other) and sew the middle of the butt... after that you just have to sew the but to the rest of the body putting the two other paws at the same place on the last stripes then the first time and then sew the bottom of the body! so now we still have the whole head to do I know it seams really long but it shouldn't be that long :p Let's start with the ears!you're gonna have to draw 2 ears in the black fabric. make sure to let some space for the stitches then on the white fabric you have to draw the same shape but the right side facing each other (as always :p) you decide if you want to fill them with stuffing or not! Id I did I wouldn't put to much thought... after that youre gonna have to draw a whole circle using the exact same radius as you used for the butt... in the white fabric! I personally would draw the kitty face on the right side of the white fabric using fabric paint or fabric marker before I sew it to the body :p but that's like you want :p after that, sew the head (face) to the body (right sides facing each other) putting the ear on the top of the head (well where cat's ears are supposed to be) AND letting a hole big enough so you can turn the whole body on the right side and be able to fill it up! :p and just do a quick blind stitch by hand to close the hole and here you go!! you're homemade kitty pillow like chloe's one!! :)
hope it helped you! If you decide to do you're own kitty pillow send me some pictures! I'd love to see how it turned out :) If you need any more information on how to do it, don't hesitate to ask, I'm gonna be really happy to help you out!! I might try do to a kitty pillow as well :)
